Venus Walking is the collaborative art book by designer Octopussay and photographic artist Remy Spanos. A poetic offering and a visual conclusion to the lifespan of Octopussay’s inaugural collection.

In a day and age where fashion and artistic imagery has turned into ‘content’, and the diffusion of a large body of work is reduced to an algorithm, this book touches on a simple urge to create a special collectable. A concrete art object and a poignant stance.

Intertwining Spanos’ soft, tender blur of emotion and sensual sentimentality with Octopussay’s itch for theatricality amongst the mundane and kitsch aesthetics — a meeting point between Spanos’s strictly analogue photographic practice and the tangibility of clothing.

A culmination of 2 years of work, bound in a rich burgundy cloth and printed locally, in Naarm, on recycled silk paper. This first edition is limited to 75 copies.
